Voices condemning Terrorism

Surprisingly enough, I found this on Housewife4Palestine's blog. It says it all. Maybe there's hope for, after all.

There is a dearth of voices coming from the Islamic world condemning fanaticism and its by products: violence, destruction and death. I realize that fear is a huge deterrent, no-one wants to be at the receiving end of a Fatwa (and those are issued like parking tickets), but until enough voices from that religion resoundingly condemn what Islam is wreaking on humanity, at large, on both Muslims and non-Muslims alike, it's only going to get progressively worse.

People like to claim that a few bad apples have hijacked the religion, but if that's the case, then the majority of Muslims need to become far more vocal about their opposition to terrorism. Clerics need to issue Fatwas against it. I just have to wonder if some of that 'silence' is more a result of sympathy and agreement, as opposed to fear. The Muslim world needs to find the humanity within themselves and their religion, and take a stand, before it's too late.

That is indeed a good quote. Too bad it took Palestinian vs Palestinian violence before this person spoke out against the senseless violence that Palestinian terrorists have been waging for the last half century.

This blogger still uses phrases like the "Zionist Entity" and pushes terrorist apologist propaganda about the U.S. being a "terrorist state".

But hey, one small step for humanity and one giant leap for terrorist apologists.

So true. As long as the moderate voices of Islam are silenced, rather due to fear of repocussions or apathy, then nothing changes. I think of the PBS documentary that was given a grant to film moderate Muslims then PBS denied its airing because the filmmakers wouldn't accept PBS's editing.

I read where a Fatwa is being threatened against the Dutch newspaper that ran the cartoons against radical Islam using Mohammad. That nonsense is still going on there.

I think the problem isn't humanity within them, it is the need for the One True God within them. Humanity -- and secular humanism -- created the likes of Stalin, Hitler, etc. The god they claim to worship, allah (note that I do not capitalize it), is a god of evil. Until they turn from their faith in a false god, nothing will change.

The Muslims are scared of taking a stand I guess....
Your post has given me an idea for a post...

FREEEDOMNOW: She probably misinterpreted the whole meaning!

And yes, she's decidedly a hate-monger. It's interesting...fter a post quite a while ago claiming she was very sick from being poisoned by chemical warfare from Israel, she's still up and running.
And they still feel the violence is justified, because Fatah are just stooges for Israel and the U.S. Sigh.

KAREN: I still think many may not agree with the method, but most believe the world would be better if Islam dominated. They issue fatwas for everything they don't like. It's bully religion.

PAN: But they believe theirs is the one true God so how do you change that thinking? That's the problem with many religions.

PATJ: Me too Pat. Or it could get very ugly.

ANGEL: Oh absolutely, her whole blog is riddled, throughout, with anti-US anti ISrael propaganda. I just though it funny she'd have this on her site.

FRSAY: I can always tell Troika?lambent etc. from the way he writes. I'm just able to confirm through Sitemeter and Statcounter... which I also have. :-)
I think we have to be careful about not wanting to take a stand.

Islam clearly calls for the destruction of infidels. It's very hard to believe all these claims of a "religion of peace."

Nice post! Have a great weekend!
